TIPS & TRICKS

Do you want to get the most out of this game? Lucky you! You’ve come to the right place because a little good advice goes a long way. Perhaps even all the way to the finish.

  • Get acquainted with London: specifically your neighborhood for the 3rd day!

  • Get an idea of where to find the main attractions and important locations in London.

  • Get yourself a fitting group name and make a game plan

WHAT TO PREPARE

WHAT TO BRING

  • Get your hands on a map of London (tip: you can also do this at any old souvenir store in town)

  • Bring a notebook and pen/pencil: you need to record things, but you only really need one for your group

  • Bring a camera – a good quality smart phone will also work. Please, hold your camera in landscape mode while filming.

  • Bring an umbrella – there are quite a number of outdoor assignments and the weather can be capricious

  • Bring at least one bag / backpack along to store your card box and other materials

  • A small pocket dictionary may be a good idea based on your knowledge of English

  • A device with access to Wifi, you’ll need this to solve puzzles and find locations

WHAT TO DO

  • When you receive your cards you can plan your route for the day. You can do this on the go as well, but you have Wifi access at our basecamp!

  • Do not be afraid to ask questions. Locals have a lot of information and they may be able to help you decipher some of the cryptic descriptions

  • Use Wifi: London is a huge metropolis and many places provide free Wifi. Think of places like MacDonalds, Starbucks, pubs, your hostel

  • Finish your assignments and do a little extra (take some more pictures, ask some more questions) and earn yourself a couple of bonus points

  • Write down the solution of the first JR card on the first day and figure out where location A is before you head out for a night of fun

  • It is amazing how much you can do while on the tube or walking around

  • Keep an eye on the time, on the second day finishing on time can be the difference between winning and losing

  • Keep your eye on the Facebook page, we may post hints and other information in the course of the day
